Engineering Mounted Products Katrineholm is a team having the global design ownership for Housings, Roller Bearing Units and Bearing Accessories applied in Industrial applications. As part of the SKF Innovation & Business Development organisation, Engineering Mounted Products translates market trends and customer needs into new solutions. The team plays a decisive role developing and maintaining product technical specifications and ensuring the up to date product technical knowledge is used to bring value to SKF customers and employees.

To the skilled engineering team responsible for Mounted Products we are looking for a passionate leader. In this role you will lead a team with a global responsibility and you will drive the development of new or existing product offers, working in close cooperation with stakeholders across the whole SKF organisation and value chain, and playing a decisive role to success and growth of the Mounted Products Cluster.
In this role SKF offer you the possibility to contribute to the development of the Mounted Products offer in close cooperation with Product Management, in a role with international contacts and excellent possibilities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the Mounted Products R&D portfolio by defining the Product & Technology Roadmap together with Product Management
• Drive the Engineering projects portfolio (including Testing), setting the correct priorities together with Product Management, in line with the defined strategy
• Develop new Mounted Products offerings starting from an outside-in perspective, with the support of SKF Engineering guidelines, processes and tools
• Actively drive cost reduction activities through product optimization
• Define, develop, document and maintain Mounted Products technical specifications/drawings and design rules
• Develop, document and maintain Mounted Products technical knowledge and ensure it is properly shared to customers and the SKF organisation through handbooks, seminars, trainings and events
• Maintain the SKF technical leadership by commissioning and support the technology development activities and by driving strategic competitor investigations
• Secure SKF IA&IP throughout Mounted Products patent portfolio ownership and proper interaction with suppliers
• Ensure close cooperation and collaboration with other Engineering teams for Mounted products, to share knowledge and resources
As head of the Mounted Products Engineering and Testing function, you are expected to continuously develop the team and its employees. You will be responsible to ensure efficient operations as well as to set strategic goals for the future. You will have cost control and budget responsibility for your area and leading your business in accordance with SKF Code of Conduct, EHS and Quality Policies.
The position is based in Katrineholm, Sweden, and will include travelling regionally and internationally. The successful candidate will be part of the Roller Bearing Engineering Center Sweden, and report to João Massoti, Manager Roller Bearing Engineering Center Sweden.

Knowledge and experience required:
• University degree in engineering with broad technical understanding and interest
• Experience in product development, engineering and design, preferably with product knowledge in Housings, Roller Bearing Units and Bearing Accessories
• Knowledge of cast iron, structural steel and surface treatment of metallic materials
• Experience in design and analytical engineering processes/tools as GPM, DfSS, CAD
• Proven track record from operational and strategic work in the engineering field
• Solid business understanding with a genuine “outside-in” mindset
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills with fluency in English
• Experience from international collaboration environment
